1. What type of sweets was American President Ronald Reagan known for having on his desk?

2. What is the main spirit used in a Singapore Sling?

3. What type of dish is a Gazpacho?

4.

This girl appeared in a British children's television show which ran in the mid-80s to the early 90s. What was it called? And for a smarty-pants bonus mark (which you don't actually get) what was her name in that show?

5. The Boxwood Cafe, Maze, Murano, Fifteen -- These are all famous restaurants, spot the odd one out.

6. According to The Bible God sent the Israelites manna to eat for 40 years while they were travelling in the desert. But where were they headed? (Name of the region, please -- the Bible is pretty specific about when God stopped sending the manna)

7. Which company launched Monster Munch in the 1970s with the slogan 'The Biggest Snack Pennies Can Buy'?

8. Which sandwich did McDonalds remove from their menu recently?

9.

Which company had this at its flag?

10. With which root vegetable is Baldrick obsessed?

Reagan kept jelly beans on his desk.

A Gazpacho is a type of soup.

Walkers launched Monster Munch didn't they? Or did they buy the name off another company a few years on? Seems like a bit of an easy question.

And Baldrick is obsessed with strangely shaped turnips.

That's all I have a know, the rest of them I'd probably not even make guesses worth bringing up. Oh indubitably, and you could always delete Tommy's account and make the forum private if you wish that he can't use his affiliation with us to cheat.

Not looked at it properly yet but that flag will be the East India Company, I reckon. What other company was big enough to have its own fucking flag? In its prime it controlled parts of India, had military forces and, obviously, a huge number of sailing ships which a flag would actually be useful for.

Boxwood Cafe and Maze are owned by Gordon Ramsay, and Fifteen is Jamie Oliver...

I'm guessing Murano (which I've never heard of) is Ramsay too, unless the real question is 'which of these aren't owned by TV Chefs'.

I cerebrate the McDonalds one is the McRib... they made a simpsons episode about it. Can't remember how long ago that was (don't know my simpsons very well), but it must have been fairly recent. Unless one of the chicken things has disappeared - I never eat their chicken burgers so I'd never notice if they got rid of them Laughing

Anyone know who owns Murano?

I cerebrate you're right about it being owned by Ramsey. Not that I know the shizzle but it makes more sense than 'which one isn't owned by a celebrity chef'.

EDIT: FUCKING FIIIILTEEEEER

Dunno, they came from Canaan when they went to Egypt but I don't know if they went back there afterwards.

It's a trap!

Did Walker's used to be called 'Smiths' or did they just buy them? My grandma buys these 'Smith's Salt & Shake' crisps, and she complained when they changed the name and packaging... just like she did when they changed Farley's Rusks Laughing

I'll bet my bottom dollar this is a trick question.

We're doing well cheers

We just need to know the McDonalds one, the singapore thing, the weird little girl, and the bible thing...

Our shizzles so far:

1 - Jelly Beans
2 - Gin (and Brandy)
3 - Soup
4 - Blind Date
5 - Fifteen - Jamie Oliver (as opposed to Gordon Ramsay)
6 - Canaan
7 - Smiths!
8 - An angry person's sandwich
9 - The Honourable East India Company
10 - Oddly Shaped Turnips

Well it is a food round and we all know that the Israelites were going to a Land of Milk and Honey, but basically they were going back to Israel I believe.

Doomguy's right. cheers

I remember the McRib episode of the Simpsons as well. Don't know if it was discontinued recently, but it's probably the most famous product to be axed. So yeah!

The Singapore cocktail... well I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's from Singapore. I don't know of any spirits from there but it used to be part of the British empire, right? So it'll be something like rum or whiskey or gin (hate gin with a passion now ¬_¬), as opposed to the likes of vodka.

Doing pretty well here! I don't have a clue about 4 but we at least have decent guesses for the rest of them.

Singapore Sling primaries are gin and brandy. Terrible drink.

Gin is the main spirit used if you're looking for volumes. Followed by Brandy.

EDIT:

Also i just looked at the McRib on Wikipedia. I feel sick.

Looks like we've got them all this time!

1 - Jelly Beans
2 - Gin (and Brandy)
3 - Soup
4 - Blind Date
5 - Fifteen - Jamie Oliver (as opposed to Gordon Ramsay)
6 - Canaan
7 - Smiths!
8 - McRib
9 - The Honourable East India Company
10 - Oddly Shaped Turnips

Isn't is funny that we got an shizzle for all of the food questions, but didn't do so well on intellect -_-
